February's Quilts

My favorite--acutally finished in March....by Jeri M (same as quilt photoed at the bottom of this post).  It was quite a challenge.  The minky backing combined with the sating created a lot of thread issues--but it's done!

Overall Quilt

Close-up.  The quilted hibiscus motif was developed new--especially for this quilt.

Here are some photos of quilts completed during February 2012.  This first quilt is for the Quilt of Valor campaign.  The last one featured in my blog was awarded to a wounded soldier in Afghanistan by way of the head flight nurse enlisted in New York state's Reserve Corps.  I am curious to see where this one will go.  The top is from a quilt group/guild in Mesa Arizona.  They are having a QOV show the first weekend in March where this one will be displayed before its donation to the military for a wounded war veteran.
Quilt Front

Quilt Back--I always like the backs of the quilts and sometimes even more than the front!  You can see the quilting work.

Detail of quilting done.
Other customer's quilts:

Loop the Loops with alternating flower and heart.

Oak leaf in sashing and edge-to-edge background filler.  Large applique oak leaf stitched in the ditch.  Half-square triangle units have free-motion "Terry Twist" hyper quilted with the same oak leaf motif.
